Nuclear Crossfit has been a great experience, from my very first meeting with Tanner to discuss my goals and whether Crossfit would be a good fit, to the 6am workouts which, despite the freezing temperatures and the way-too-early alarm, are becoming easier and easier to wake up for as I notice undeniable improvement daily and feel like I’m missing out when I don’t attend. The people are great, and the coaches are very helpful especially to those of us who are new to Crossfit and strangers to any level of athletic activity. The gym and the equipment is meticulously maintained and it is obvious Tanner takes a lot of pride in his business as well as his relationships with all of his clients. It truly feels more like friends who have chosen to work out together than random people who all happen to go to the same gym, and it’s been my experience that everyone is made to feel this welcome immediately. If you’re looking for a place to do Crossfit specifically or just a place to workout in general, I don’t think you will be disappointed with the choice to try Nuclear Crossfit.
You hear the term “Crossfit”, and if you are like me, it’s something that sounds intimidating and not really “your cup of tea.” I imagined super strong athletes doing crazy difficult workouts that I would never be able to do. And ironically, I couldn’t have been farther from the truth. Nuclear Crossfit has been a true blessing in my life. I have found a gym that has amazing coaches that care about you and help you achieve your personal goals. The members at the gym are friendly, accepting, and encourage you to do your best. We literally congratulate each other at the end of each workout because we recognize how hard we all were working. And the workouts? Okay they are tough… that part was right. Due to some old football injuries and lack of exercise program, I have to sometimes modify the exercises. But even in those modifications, the coaches work within your abilities to help you push yourself and get the most out of your workouts. I have lost over 35 lbs and six inches around my waist, gone down two shirt sizes (and don’t plan on finding them), and have had my blood pressure go from “high” to “normal.” And that’s was all in the first six months! The coolest part of my workouts though are when we are done. Because everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) recognizes each other for the hard work they just did. So if you think Crossfit isn’t for you, well, you are wrong! Stop by and chat with one of the coaches and attend a free community workout. There’s nothing like being a part of a group of people that encourage, support, and celebrate each other.
